Red Building Blue Awning

  Red Building Blue Awning is a larger work (24 x 30) based on a successful smaller work done earlier.  I use the smaller works as studies for the larger works.  The smaller works then become the only photo reference I use for the painting.  The idea is to work more from memory and instinct rather than photographic factual information.  These figure are crossing a street near Tenth or Eleventh in Midtown.
