Thirty Fifth a Street is part of a series combining the figure with the cityscape.  Trying to organize the chaos of these images is the real challenge.  Some areas are very active, and to contrast this, the adjacent area needs to be calm to allow the eye to rest.

Red and Blue Wabash Avenue

Red and Blue on Wabash Avenue is part of a series of urban landscape paintings. Wabash Avenue in Chicago has a distinct look with the Elevated Train which runs overhead.  I look to add more color to these cityscape works by finding the cool-warm contrast and playing it up.  In this case, it's the red bridge against the blue shadow on the street.

Black and Yellow

Black and Yellow is part of a series that focuses on the female figure reading.  I've began titling these works with the color choices I selected.  In the past, my works were very grey and subdued.  My subject matter was the urban cityscape, which didn't lend itself to a rainbow of colors. I'm toying with the idea of putting my own color scheme together for all of the works.
