Oxford Street

Oxford Street is part of a the series to do with the female figure reading.  After being an illustrator for about 20 years, I was taught to make paintings look as three-dimensional as possible.  Now as a painter, I'm trying to break that train of thought and make the images look flatter and two-dimensional.

Waitress Writing

Waitress Writing is part of a series to do with the overall dining experience.  I started doing this series just a few months ago.  But the idea of it had been rumbling in my head for a two or three years.  I'm glad I finally took the plunge and started it.  The response has been very good.

Capacity

Capacity is part of a series capturing the female figure reading.  The detailed figure is reading the newspaper in the NYC subway.  The figure on the right plays a supporting role to the main character.  Similar to a movie, the roles of the characters have to be assigned.

Woebegone

Woebegone is another work in the series of the female figure reading.  Conveying the figure's emotional state is very important in my work.  It stems from 20 years of being an editorial illustrator.

Albuquerque

Albuquerque is part of a series to do with the female figure reading.  The title is borrowed from a Richard Diebenkorn painting.  Most importantly, I borrowed the color scheme he used for that painting. The combo of red, yellow, and black. Remind me of the old Pulp Fiction Covers from the 50's.
