Miner #2

This painting is a small portrait of an unknown miner probably dating back to the 1950's.  I always admired  Robert Henri's portrait work.  I try to capture some of that drama and character that he had in his work.

  1. Wonderful portrait. The colors of his skin, the strong and confident brushwork and the intensity of his presence all make for a great painting.

  2. Wonderfully emotional portrait. I love the look on his face, the skin tones and bold brush strokes. His eyes are intense without being fully realized. I just love it.
