Shoulder to Shoulder

Shoulder to Shoulder is part of a series to do with the female figure reading.  Living in a cold weather climate, like Chicago, forces me to look for interior scenes of this theme.  The verticals of the subway car are offset by the horizontal of the open book.

Noodle Shop

Noodle Shop is part of a series to do with food and drink.  I usually focus on the service providers in these paintings, but in this case, the customer is the subject.  The small noodle shops are a staple for the lunch break of many workers.

Small Table

Small Table is part of a series that depicts the scenes at bars or restaurants.  I focus in on the service people who work at these establishments.  The server is cast in shadow which gives him a suspect feeling.

Heavy Rain Times Square

Heavy Rain Times Square is part of a series of urban landscapes.  Times Square in NYC always offers a backdrop of chaotic energy to a painting.  All this chaos is centered around the contrasting tilts of the pink umbrella and the white crosswalk of the street.

View

View is part of a series to do with the female figure reading.  Occasionally, I will portray these female figures reading in a surreal setting such as this.  If you cover up the strip of blue at the top, the painting seems very normal and realistic.
