Hidden Guests

Hidden Guests is part of a series to do with food and drink.  I focus on the service people providing the goods in this series.  Their poses and gestures are more telling than any of the figures.  As in this case, the guest are hidden but the waiter's expression is evident.

Newspaper on Curb

Newspaper on Curb is part of a series to do with the female figure reading.  I use other artist for inspiration in many of these works.  When it comes to color, I admire the works of Elmore Bischoff, a figurative artist from the Bay Area.  The paintings where realistic, but very dreamlike at the same time.

Sweeping Water

Sweeping Water is part of a series that has to do with food and drink.  This waiter is sweeping away extra water from the street in order to give his area a good presentation.  I admire these people for all the work they do because I once did this.

Mercury

Mercury is part of a series to do with sports and athletics.  The paintings in this series are more about the figures in motion and their physical struggle.  That aspect is more compelling to me rather than glorifying a particular athlete or event.

Nestled in Corner

Nestled in Corner is part of a series to do with the female figure reading.  I sometimes take my own photographs here in Chicago of figures reading.  But sometimes I borrow photos which I think are interesting, as in this case. However, I do add my own color scheme to these black and white photographs to add more of my vision.
