Traffic State Street is part of a series of urban landscapes. Capturing the mood is more important in these city scenes. The details are far less important and can add up to be too much for the human eye to take in.

Wabash Bridge
Wabash Bridge is part of a series to do with urban landscapes. I moved to Chicago about 10 years ago with the idea of painting the city. It appeared to be a never ending resource for paintings.

Perpendicular Shadow
Perpendicular Shadow is part of a series to do with people coming and going in the city. I started doing paintings for this series about 8 years ago. I remember being struck by the drama of light clothed figures stepping out of dark shadows.

Light at the End
Light at the End is part of a series of urban landscapes. Even though I grew up in the country, the city scenes have always intrigued me more. Forty-Sixth Street

Marquee
Marquee is part of a series of urban landscapes. In this series, I prefer images that don't involve historic buildings or monuments. Much to do about nothing, raises more questions to the viewer.

Near South Side
Near South Side is part of a series to do with urban landscapes. The contrast of snow and steel always interests me. That combination can easily be found in Chicago. Also, I've always admired the George Bellows snow scenes.

Flat Iron
Flat Iron is part of a series depicting urban landscapes. The Flat iron building in NYC is a very iconic structure, in particular to artists. Many artist such as Andy Warhol, The Ashcan School, and most of the Pulp Fiction Artists, used space in this building to create their works.
