Suspended

Lately,  most of the paintings in this series are indoor or subway scenes.  When I first starting doing this series a few years ago, the summers here in Chicago were very warm.  But in the last two years, the summers have been cold and rainy limiting my opportunities to find subject matter.

Aperture

   Aperture is part of the series that features the female figure reading.  Aperture refers to the window opening of the subway car which frames the figures.  The horizontal of the book breaks up the verticals of the window.  Also, the background figure balances the diagonal of the foreground figure.
